Mount Vernon Campus Events

Summer Conferences

We welcome all groups interested in utilizing our facilities for summer conference programs. Each year we host groups over the course of the summer weeks, providing residential, meeting, event and dining spaces throughout our campus. If you're interested in hosting your event on Mount Vernon Campus or want to learn more, please submit a request and tell us more about your conference or event.

Please review the following information regarding summer conferences and contact us if you have any further questions.

Parking Your Vehicle On Mount Vernon Campus

Personal cars, vans, and buses are all allowed on campus. Vehicles can be parked in the parking garage found at the main entrance to campus, off of Whitehaven Parkway. More information on parking rates is also available.

It is also possible to purchase a temporary parking pass. These can be contracted during the planning phase. Rates for a parking pass are $12 per day. Vehicle information will be required.

Charter Buses

Charter buses are allowed to pick up and drop off on campus, but cannot stage or park on the grounds. If you need information on where in the district buses are allowed to park, the District Department of Transportation provides a “Motorcoach Guide to Washington”

If you are planning on bringing any charter buses to campus, the schedule of all drop offs and pick ups during your stay should be discussed with your conference planner prior to your arrival.

Other Transportation Options

Besides personal vehicles, charter buses or the Vern Express, Washington DC’s Metrobus also has stops near the Mount Vernon Campus, on MacArthur Boulevard. Look for the D3 and D6 bus schedule on the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority website.

There are also several taxicab companies that will serve the Mount Vernon Campus throughout the day and evening hours. A few of these companies are listed below. Please note, however, that these companies are not associated with The George Washington University, but are companies we know have been used by previous clients.
